We are seeking a HR Manager to join Finisar Australia on a part-time basis for a 10 month maternity leave cover. The role is a stand-alone, generalist role and is responsible for all end-to-end employee life cycle activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain HR systems and policies to support business strategy and ensure legal compliance
  • Manage the recruitment, selection and on boarding of all new hires
  • Oversee staff performance evaluation/review and management
  • Coordinate the remuneration and benefits system in line with Company policy
  • Manage the termination of staff (resignations and terminations)
  • Provide general employee relations and advice to staff and management
  • Liaise with global HR team to align policies and where relevant, follow global procedures and meet compliance/reporting requirements
  • Handle ad-hoc HR administration, reporting and compliance requirements as required

Education and Necessary Skills

  • Tertiary qualification in HR management or related discipline
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and oral)
  • Demonstrated ability to provide practical solutions to human resource issues
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and coordinate work in order to meet deadlines
  • Experience in recruitment and selection
  • Intermediate to advanced Word and Excel
  • Understanding of award structures and various employment related legislation
  • Knowledge of Australian immigration regulations
