About the role

An opportunity exists for a HR Advisor to join the NSW HR team based at our state of the art facility in Newcastle.

Reporting to the HR Manager, the position will be responsible for providing generalist HR support, advice and coaching to the operational, sales and support service business units. Specifically, the role will focus on providing value adding service to your business units including;

  • Employee engagement
  • Coaching business managers and supervisors
  • Talent and performance management
  • Enterprise agreement and policy interpretation
  • L&D support and implementation
  • Organisational development initiatives
  • Application of WesTrac’s remuneration strategy
  • Workforce planning support

The essential criteria required to apply for this role will include:

  • Tertiary qualifications within the field of Human Resources or equivalent discipline such as Business, Psychology or Law
  • Minimum of 3 years’ previous experience in a similar HR Advisory capacity 
  • Comprehensive knowledge, understanding and ability to interpret legislation, awards, industrial instruments, policies and procedures relevant to HR best practice
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills to effectively resolve issues in the workplace
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Advanced time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters appropriately
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
  • Advanced computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office Suite)

 Desirable:

  • Previous experience in HR policy and procedure writing in accordance to legislative requirements
  • Previous experience in delivering training workshops
