Are you an experienced workplace health & professional seeking a new challenge?

An opportunity exists for a dynamic and action focused individual to join our Health & Safety team.

This position will report directly to the Manager Human Resources, and will be responsible for providing WHS advice across the organisation. The preferred candidate will play an active role promoting safety awareness and fostering a culture of proactive injury and hazard prevention for all employees, contractors and the public through compliance with the relevant Workplace Health and Safety Acts and Regulations.

The position will be based in Port Hedland, a town of rich heritage, spectacular landscapes, friendliness, a diverse and embracing community and relaxed lifestyle. As the largest bulk export port in the world, the town is home to global resource leaders and is significant to the national interest.

About you

Our ideal candidate is an effective communicator who can liaise with all levels of the business as well as external organisations. We require a self-motivated, diligent individual who prides themselves on their strong attention to detail. The preferred candidate will have previous experience in a similar role with proven coaching and mentoring skills as well as qualifications in Work, Health & Safety or equivalent previous experience in a similar role,

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Current C Class manual drivers licence
  • Driver’s Licence
  • National Police Clearance
  • Tertiary qualification in Work, Health & Safety and or related field or equivalent knowledge and experience in a similar role
  • Workplace First Aid certificate
