  • On-going full-time position, located in 2 Trafalgar St, Petersham 2049 (close to station, shopping centre, parks, public transport)
  • Help shape our organisations and workforce to enable the Transport cluster to be future-ready and support agencies to implement workforce strategies and solutions

The opportunity
The Learning & Development, Senior Associate, Apprenticeships & Traineeships is responsible for engaging with business stakeholders to develop learning, development & support solutions to address industry challenges and meet business objectives.


This role involves end to end management of solution design and implementation. This will require research, benchmarking and needs analysis. The role will be required to develop partnerships nationally and globally to ensure a timely approach to capability and competency development for future transport solutions.

Some of the key responsibilities include: 

  • Lead the Apprentice and Trainee programs related to the needs of the Transport cluster and our industry partners
  • Drive partnerships across a range of vocational education providers to ensure leading educational outcomes for apprentices and trainees
  • Influence the vocational and higher education sector to ensure that there is consideration and development of programs of learning that will support the capability required to deliver the Future Transport vision
  • Lead and support continuous improvement of apprentice and trainee programs across the cluster and with vocational education partners to ensure quality processes underpin all phases of learning
  • Continuously advocate for quality learning interventions for all program participants at all times, and ensure a robust evaluation framework supports the advocacy

About us
Learning and Development is responsible for building the capability strategy and needs of the Transport cluster. They:

  • Lead the partnering with industry and education sectors to meet the emerging capability and competency needs of Future Transport
  • Lead the design and delivery of learning programs to meet the current and future needs of the cluster
  • Manage the delivery of learning programs by internal and external learning and development suppliers
  • Lead the implementation of high quality learning programs that build a skilled and capable workforce

TfNSW Grade 9: $129,349 - $144,870 base + superannuation and leave loading

  • 4 weeks annual leave with annual leave loading

Essential requirements

  • Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of Learning & Development strategies and programs and the capability to develop and maintain high credibility levels.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, or equivalent relevant experience.
