LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

Based in the Canberra

Our federal government client is looking for dynamic, professional, committed people.

The Role

As an instructional designer you will work with the learning and development team to manage:

  • Design and develop best practice learning program content including workshops materials, case studies, scenarios and on the job resources and which support the 70:20:10 learning philosophy.
  • Provide advice on the best design solution to a specific learning need.
  • Storyboard learning concepts and designs.
  • Design and develop:
    • Facilitator Guides
    • Participant Workbooks
    • Creative and Engaging Learning PowerPoint Slides
    • Learning aids (E.g. quick reference guides & on the job resources)
    • Feedback and evaluation tools
  • Use branding identity to create engaging learning resources.
  • Assist in the implementation of training programs and oversee the administration, facilitation and resourcing for the delivery of agreed training.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Sound experience in needs analysis and;
  • Proven experience in design and delivery of learning development solutions
  • Sound experience in needs analysis, design and delivery of successful learning and development solutions within corporate environments
  • Highly proficient knowledge of:
    • ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation) framework of learning program design;
    • Adult learning theories and principles; and
    • Learning evaluation methodologies and techniques.
  • Extensive experience in learning content instructional design, visual design and layout of learning materials.
  • Ability to develop storyboards / content maps articulating learning content.
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail in the presentation of learning content.
  • Sound knowledge and experience with instructional design tools.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders including senior management and communicate effectively with all levels across the organisation.
  • Work within a team environment where changing priorities are frequent.

What you'll get in return

This role will be an initial 3 month contract with an attractive hourly rate offered to the candidate deemed suitable. There is potential for long term extension options, dependent on performance and agency requirements.
