Role Summary
The Australian Human Resources Manager coordinates and manages human resources services, systems and activities for the Firm across the Australian offices. The Manager supports the leadership staff of Australia by providing consistent guidance and support on human resources issues; The Manager reports to the Firm Human Resources Director and Counsel and the Australian Regional Director of Operations and has key stakeholders in the leadership of the four offices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the Australian offices’ Human Resources operations and projects.
- Oversee all human resources functions nationally including but not limited to recruitment (including lateral recruitment, and graduate, summer clerk and paralegal programs) new hire onboarding and induction, the employee performance evaluation process, monitoring and counseling of employees, performance management programs for lawyers and staff, formal grievances and complaints, design and implementation of learning & development and formal coaching programs, secretary allocations and cover, attendance recording, design and coordination of law school relations programs, WHS, visa and sponsorship arrangements, coordination of international and domestic relocations and secondments, development and review of HR policies and employment contracts, exit interviews and related data, HR reporting, other cyclical and ad hoc HR projects.

- Demonstrated management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop and lead professional development programs related to Human Resources topics
- Ability to establish effective working relationships within the Offices and Firm
- Strong working knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
- Related bachelor’s degree or higher
- Minimum 8 years’ experience within Human Resources
- Minimum of 5 years’ managerial experience in a corporate/ professional environment; Law or Accounting firm experience required.
