Due to considerable growth the Freshmax Group are looking for HR/Payroll Business Partner to support the Group across Australia, and areas of our international team.

This new role, based in the Western Suburbs, Melbourne, will be responsible for providing HR support and managing the payroll process across Freshmax Australia.  With this newly created role you will have the opportunity to make it your own including adding value and building trusted partner relationships across the business.

Reporting to the Group General Manager – People and Organisation, (based in Australia), you will be part of an Australia and NZ team working together to ensure all aspects of HR and Payroll are maintained & delivered, key projects are completed efficiently and all initiatives are implemented across the Group.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Managing the recruitment process for the Australia business including partnering with the hiring managers to source, screen and interview candidates to ensure a great candidate experience and successful hiring process.
  • Supporting the business by providing HR advice and coaching on employee relations and employment law issues including performance improvement plans and disciplinary processes.
  • Support the implementation of the Performance Management Program, including assisting the managers with goal and objective setting for their team and taking them through the process as well as ensuring timelines and key deliverables are met and documentation is completed and filed accordingly.
  • Coordinate and provide support on training programs and initiatives (e.g., New Hire Orientation, management training) and record keeping on attendance
  • Support and contribute to HR and business reporting requirements
  • Co-ordination and management of workers compensation, as well as superannuation contributions ensuring statutory requirements are maintained
  • Business partnering with key internal and external stakeholders on HR and payroll matters
  • Preparation of all employee documentation including employment contracts and position descriptions
  • End to end processing of the company’s payroll(s) including the weekly and monthly payroll

Candidates will have previous experience within Human Resource and Payroll, ideally within a corporate background and experience within the FMCG industry.  You will be familiar with all facets of Australian employment law including experience managing employment relations.

Candidates will have 3-5 years experience within an HR role including managing the end to end process for payroll.  Ideally you will hold an HR Management qualification and be confident in managing and implemented key HR projects.  Candidates must have a detailed knowledge and practical experience of Australian Employment legislation, be highly organised with excellent verbal and written communication skills.  You will have strong influencing and relationship-building skills and the ability to establish credibility with the business and global team.  Your ability to work autonomously and excellent attention to detail will put you in good stead.
