UGL Unipart Rail Services Pty Ltd (UGL Unipart) was founded in December 2011 as a Joint Venture between UGL (Australia) and Unipart Rail (UK). UGL Unipart operates a Rail Maintenance Facility at Auburn where it maintains rolling stock for Sydney Trains, Transport for New South Wales and other rail operators.
 
UGL Unipart is seeking a P&C Project Manager to assist P&C Manager and the UGLU P&C team during implementation of the project. Specific areas of support include but not limited to:

• Wellbeing management;
• Streamline and automate UGLU’s P&C reporting framework;
• Development of the P&C hot topics, as per the CY18 Business Plan; and
• Employee onboarding

 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• In partnership with the P&C Manager, implement a mechanism to report transparently on progress of projects against key milestones;
• Review, streamline and automate weekly and monthly reporting suite including, but not limited to monthly metrics and Employee Relations;
• Develop UGLU’s wellbeing management framework aligned to the budget target of reducing absenteeism to 3%. Specific components include:
  • Governance and reporting;
  • Leadership capability – upskilling, tools and resources;
  • Trends analysis;
  • Industry benchmarking
  • Explore opportunities for holistic support incorporating current tools EAP, employee benefits and making recommendations for alternatives;
• Review and streamline UGLU’s onboarding framework aimed at providing a highly engaging experience for new starting employees / internally deploying employees with leadership capability support to enable a productive transition;
• Assist with the development, review and deployment of HR Processes / tools across the business to support continuous improvement;
• Take ownership and lead on key HR projects on an adhoc basis and as directed by the P&C Manager; and
• Undertake any other adhoc task / assignment as directed by the P&C Manager

 
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Tertiary level or equivalent experience in Human Resources
• Sound understanding of employment practices and regulations
• Strong ER background with demonstrated results improving organisational performance
• Previous experience delivering projects aimed at enhancing leadership capability, practically
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to formulate multiple recommendations for solution and collaborate with clients to tailor a fit for purpose solutions
• Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a matrix organisation
• Demonstrated commercial acumen
