Reporting to the Chief HR Officer, you will play a pivotal role in leading the HR function to our Asia Pacific region. You will be the consultant and advisor to management on business issues and a guide to managers and employees. Your focus will be on partnering with our management team on all HR-related topics.  As the APJ lead, you will also be responsible for the success of your local HR team as a people manager and mentor. As we aspire to mature as an organization, you will also be involved with developing new projects and processes from scratch. You will be an experienced Human Resources partner who supports business growth by providing efficient, consistent and proactive HR consultancy to multiple lines of business. This will range from day to day implementation of HR practices to involvement in critical business initiatives.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and build relationships quickly whereby people will look to you for direction and support.
  • Partner with your clients on all key people processes including recruitment and selection, onboarding, compensation & benefits, training and development, employee relations, performance management, appraisals, etc.
  • Consult with the business to provide guidance and coaching where applicable.
  • Lead and manage the APJ HR team and continually motivate individuals to push for excellence.
  • Collaborate with senior management and global HR team to build leadership talent, people planning, and succession planning strategies.
  • Global project integration.
  • Execute approved workforce plans and perform headcount analyses to ensure resources are properly aligned to meet business goals and objectives.
  • Anticipate and apply critical thinking to proactively reach a solution to help resolve business challenges.
  • Operationalize HR practices, programs, processes, and services that drive individual and business performance.
  • Work closely with inhouse legal to manage regional employee relations issues.
  • Develop and execute tactical plans at the business unit level to achieve business objectives.
  • Collaborate with regional HR team to review existing policies and procedures, and ensure all regional practices are in compliance with local legislation and align across the region.
  • Partner with the internal Talent Acquisition team to meet all hiring expectations.
  • Maintain professional network in respective markets to stay abreast of trend changes in labor competition and availability of talent.
  • Deploy diversity initiatives within the APJ region.

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • University degree in business administration with specialization in HRM
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience at an HR Manager level for a fast-paced, international, technology corporation
  • In-depth knowledge of regional labor laws
  • Experience in several APJ countries, understanding local business practices and cultural landscape
  • Strong skills in effective leadership and coaching with a down to earth, pragmatic, collaborative and personal approach
  • Demonstrated ability in providing HR consultation to all level employees
  • Excellent people and influencing skills to manage stakeholders at all levels
  • Sound knowledge and demonstrable understanding of change management and project planning skills and strategies
  • Well-developed planning, analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Flexible and proactive to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong client focus and results orientation
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • A positive approach with great communication skills (written and oral)
  • Extremely organized in a multi-priority environment
  • Experience with SAP Success Factors would be a plus
  • 20% travel required to regional offices
  • Proficiency with MS Office
