About the business

About Teach For Australia

Teach For Australia (TFA) is an innovative non-profit organisation and part of a global movement dedicated to developing leadership in classrooms and communities to ensure all children achieve their potential.

All students have the capacity to succeed in their educational pursuits, but there is inequity between educational outcomes of students from different backgrounds. In Australia, children from the lowest income households are on average three years behind in school. Without addressing this inequity, the gap grows over time and, if carried on to the next generation of students, a cycle of educational disadvantage is created.

We recruit Australia's future leaders and inspire, connect and empower them to a lifetime of action tackling educational disadvantage – activated by the classroom. Our vision is of an Australia where all children, regardless background, attain an excellent education.

About the role

Teach For Australia acknowledges that a great vision without great people is irrelevant and achievement of our ambitious organisation goals is critically dependant on our people.

The People & Culture function provides vital support to TFA in achieving its strategic objectives through the effective use of people – translating the organisations strategic direction into strategic people initiatives, which are underpinned by organisation culture, policies, and practices.

People & Culture partner with leaders and line managers, to empower and build their people management capability – ensuring they have the technical knowledge, behaviours and mindsets to own and execute practices that attract, inspire, support, develop and retain the organisations greatest asset - our people.
