Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) is responsible for the leadership of 152 Catholic primary and secondary schools across the Archdiocese of Sydney, which educates over 70,000 students.
Join the talented HR Directorate team in this newly created role responsible for leading the delivery of key services across the Employment Services Unit of Sydney Catholic Schools.
Reporting to the Assistant HR Director and supporting five Team Leaders (3 x HR Generalists, Payroll Governance and HR Projects), this position supports the Assistant HR Director in evaluating, setting and overseeing the implementation of strategic priorities of the organisation with a particular focus on alignment of operational delivery strategy to improve effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
The Head of Employment Services is a key member of the HR Executive team and from time-to-time the role will assume the responsibility of the Assistant HR Director in an acting or interim capacity. This position has significant internal and external stakeholder interactions including but not limited to the Executive leadership team, Board of SCS Ltd, Chief Financial Officer, Sydney Chancery personnel, Vicar-Generals, Clergy and Members of Religious Orders.
Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or related discipline
- Strong and significant leadership experience with the ability to develop staff
- An active and practicing Catholic commitment to a parish community and with a deep Catholic faith and religious sensibility
Desirable Criteria
- Master of Industrial Relations or Master of Business Administration
- Recent or current leadership experience in Catholic education or non-for-profit sector
