About the Role

We are currently seeking an Injury Services Advisor to provide specialist injury management support for all employees involved in work and non-work related injuries and illnesses within our east coast centres at Sydney and Brisbane.

 

This specialist will provide technical advice, coach line managers and utilise external professional networks.

 

This position will influence the Business Unit to provide suitable return to work opportunities for injured employees, and implement strategies to attain an optimal outcome for the employee and Serco.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and role model Serco's Safety Management Framework
  • Partner with the Business Unit to achieve safety targets and measures
  • Support line managers in developing the necessary skills and tools to drive appropriate safety behaviour
  • Manage allocated injury management portfolio within legislative and Serco requirements to achieve cost effective outcomes
  • Influence, coach and mentor line managers in injury management processes
  • Provide injured employees with accurate, timely and appropriate advice regarding injury management process and procedures, rights and responsibilities 

 

Key Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications are essential
    • Occupational Therapy
    • Physiotherapy
    • Psychology or
    • Nursing
  • Additional related health science field at an approved tertiary institution highly desirable
    • Human Movement
    • Exercise Physiology
    • Sports
    • Science and rehabilitation studies
  • Qualifications in the following will be taken into account
    • Human Resources
    • Employee Relations
    • Occupational Health and Safety with a minimum 2 years' experience in Injury Management including implementing Injury Management programs
  • Knowledge of the relevant state workers compensation legislation
  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills
  • Highly developed negotiating and influencing skills
  • Highly developed assessment and problem solving skills
