About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a well-rounded and dynamic Regional HR Manager to join our International Operations Team. Reporting to Principal Executive International Operations, the role leads the HR Managers’ network in CARE International Country Offices to support strategic alignment of HR programs, share learning and results, and contribute to common agendas. 

A key focus is building capacity and autonomy, providing ongoing advice and support.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high level HR technical support and advice on strategies, HR frameworks, policy design and implementation
  • Lead national HR Managers on leadership and management processes
  • Direct and execute complex HR projects and programs
  • Develop and support initiatives for capacity building or cross-learning among CARE Australia and Country Offices in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Advise and support on complex/critical industrial relations/employee relations matters, including case management (performance management, grievances, serious misconduct cases)
  • Build the capacity of national HR Managers and teams

Ideally you will have

  • Tertiary qualified with demonstrated experience as a generalist HR practitioner, within a large size, complex organisation
  • Experience working in an international setting, preferably in the humanitarian aid/ not-for-profit sector
  • Proven leadership ability and personal attributes including strategic thinking, strong representational and effective people management skills
  • Proven expertise in the implementation of leadership, management and staff capacity development, retention and succession planning
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills, including networking, facilitation, coaching/mentoring
  • Ability to travel in developing countries for periods up to 2 – 3 weeks for up to 18 weeks per year.
