About the role

This is a very exciting time to be part of the National Resource Management team!

Based in our Perth office, you will support the Deloitte Private (DPR) and Assurance businesses operating in the Perth and Adelaide markets. Empowered to work collaboratively with the leaders of our business, you will provide strategic Resource Management solutions, ensuring our firm and people are supported through optimal staff allocation.

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with prior Resource Management experience in a large organisation, who enjoys working autonomously with geographically and functionally diverse teams. You will manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels from Partners to Vacationers, producing and sharing key Resource Management insights with the senior leadership team in order to drive business performance.

You will be in the unique position to balance business needs with the best-fit staff, acting as a key enabler for professional growth and development of our people, whilst providing in-depth analysis and recommendations on the staff supply and demand using our state of the art resourcing systems.

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Working closely with Partners, Directors and Managers to drive Resource Management initiatives
  • Proactively manage the allocation of staff on engagements - allocating the right staff to the right engagements with a continued focus on engagement profitability and client service delivery, as well as skill building, motivation and staff morale
  • Build strong relationships to understand staff skills, development areas and career aspirations for optimal deployment and growth opportunities
  • Produce, review and analyse availability and utilisation reports and provide insights and recommendations to the leadership team
  • Work in close collaboration with other internal teams such as People & Performance (HR), Learning & Development and Recruitment teams
  • Oversee the Resource Management database to make sure the information is always accurate and up to date
  • Address all resourcing requests promptly and adequately
  • Participate and contribute to the relevant business team and leadership meetings to provide resourcing insights
  • Continuously seek new ways to improve the resource management processes

About your experience

We are looking for someone that is passionate about Resource Management and proactive with a “can do” attitude”. You will have a demonstrated ability to: develop strong client relationships, facilitate ongoing client collaboration, teamwork and optimal communications to deliver outstanding service.

  • Understanding of professional services environment, ideally in Audit, with prior experience in resource management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on several simultaneous tasks and projects, prioritising as needed
  • Ability to work independently and creatively to support local and virtual teams
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel - intermediate to advanced
  • Proactive and positive attitude coupled with energy, motivation and enthusiasm
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Strong influencing and persuasion skills
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to quickly gain credibility, trust and respect from colleagues of all levels
  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in following systems and procedures
