The Role
 
This role is ideally suited those performing at an APS5 or APS6 level and are seeking a challenging, fast paced role with a great team! This client is seeking an experienced HR practitioner with a strong understanding across Employee Relations. Your expertise will be used to guide and inform the People team as well as across the Department.

You will be responsible for:

  • providing complex employment policy advice on across all areas,  including LAFHA, relocation and working remotely. 
  • coordinating and managing individual flexibility arrangements and section 24(1) determinations;
  • providing broad advice on performance management, pay and conditions, SES conditions of employment and ad hoc queries as required; and
  • drafting and developing employment policies.
 
This role will see you undertaking complex project work as well as conducting research and analysis to form provide high-level advice on complex matters.

You may also be required to prepare reports, briefs, updates and other correspondence for Executive.
 
 
Your Skills and Experience 
 
In order to ensure your success in this role you will be an accomplished HR professional and have comprehensive knowledge and experience interpreting relevant employment legislation.

A relevant qualification will be highly regarded.

You must also demonstrate 
  • Exceptional communication skills with particular emphasis on writing briefs and reports, and developing complex policies; 
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to build strong stakeholder engagement which must include liaising with senior executives and competency in providing advice at this level;
  • The ability to undertake complex analysis and evaluations;
  • The ability to work in a high pressure and demanding role and work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities. 

A solid understanding of ER within the APS will be regarded highly as well as a current security clearance.
