What you'll do..

As the Training Manager you will be responsible for managing the training operations and management of training team members, working with the relevant stakeholders, including managers and employees, in the planning and delivery of training. Creation, development and delivering of training programmes to internal staff and external parties. This will include mandatory training for new staff as well as refresher training in all relevant areas.

  • Identify and assess the knowledge /skills / behavioural gap between the current and future operational environment to design, structure and develop the appropriate training
  • Ensure that all training activities are properly planned, funded, staffed, delivered and equipped; and that providers meet national standards under the ASQA requirements and that training delivery complies with National Quality Standards.
  • Develop and coordinate external subcontractor training to do with safely accessing the light rail corridor.
  • Manage the Funding application with the RTO and third parties where applicable and manage the enrolment of employees with the Apprenticeship Centre and RTO.
  • Provide effective management of all financial aspects of the training profile and ensure that budgets are managed efficiently and prepare reports for Management as requested.
  • In conjunction with the HR Manager, you will manage and mentor all training staff; work with the Senior Management Team in identifying, planning, delivering & assessing training;
  • Actively participate in committees (i.e. Driver Authorisation Committee); coordinate the employees and monitor and report on their progress.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the training team to ensure high quality outcomes.

About you..

  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment;
  • Bachelor Degree in Adult Education or equivalent;
  • Must be able to obtain Rail Safety Critical Worker (Category 1)
  • Must be able to obtain a National Police Check
  • Must be able to obtain a NSW Working With Children Check
  • Able to achieve Cert III Rail Driving AQTF Qualification;
  • Previous training experience, working in high-pressure and rapidly evolving situations;
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, influence, coach, present to and manage relationships with various levels of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Excellent written communications, including composition, grammar and spelling Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products;
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc).
