The Marais Creative Team works collaboratively with artists and key professionals to build and tell visually engaging stories through store window installations.
We are currently seeking a creative project manager to provide support within the pre-production and production phase of these creative projects through to the launch stage.
 
This is a hands on role that requires both technical and creative awareness where the successful applicant will be supervising the production and prototyping of props and visual aesthetics, producing of props to navigating the installation process whilst reporting to the Creative Director.
 
Key Responsibilities include:

  • Administrative support to the Creative Director.
  • Translate Creative Directors requirements to the studio team and monitor aesthetic standards. 
  • Construction drawing, mock-up and quality assessment. 
  • Sourcing of materials including price options and booking of studio equipment. 
  • Creative contributions with approval from the Creative Director for the final showcase and delivery of the end result.
  • Liaising with suppliers, manufacturers, artists for prototyping and end products. Providing quality assurance on finished results.
  • Build and/or reuse props in new ways.
  • End to end project management, production schedules, delegate tasks, risk analysis, problem solving and aid in the provision of budgets and costings. 
  • Admin duties directly involved with the creative team budgets, organising and tracking inventory and deliveries.
  • Day to day management of the studio team, studio room and reporting. 

 

Technical Responsibilities:
 

  • Overseeing the rig and de-rig of periodical window installations according to guidelines and specifications.
  • Operating the lighting, screen, backdrop functions and upkeep. 

 

Required Skills and Attributes include:

  • Solid organisational, communication and management skills.
  • Experience in coaching and delegating tasks. 
  • Knowledge of design principles and process to assist in the final outcomes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of production process and lead-times.
  • Strong knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is highly beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
  • Fast and adaptive worker.
  • Observe OH&S requirements.  
  • Minimum 1 years relevant experience in a similar role.

 

 

Please note this role requires the ability to understand and successfully build and manage an art installation process. This is a hands on role with a preferred background in Theatre/Performing Art Design, Set Design and Construction, Interior Design or Interior Architecture. 
 
Previous experience in a creative role coinciding with project co-ordinating/managing is highly regarded along with artistic flair and commercial acumen for the luxury retail landscape.
