DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Stage Management
- Liaise with the Director and production and design departments (e.g. – set, costume, lighting, sound) regarding production requirements, planning and implementation
- Assist the Stage Manager in the running of rehearsals and performances, including sourcing and organisation of set/furniture, prop, costume and other items as required
- Interpret plans and assist with mark up of rehearsal rooms and stage
- Prepare and update paperwork including schedules, props lists, running sheets, check-lists and extractions
- Manage petty cash for props buying and rehearsal room amenities
- Coordinate the backstage area during production week and performances
- Assist with scene changes, costume changes, and other cues as required
- Promote Workplace Health and Safety and maintain a clean and tidy work environment
Touring
- Assist in the preparation of tour schedules and logistics and prepare documentation for the touring party
- Liaise with presenting venues and co-producers
- Prepare touring requirements such as costumes, props, and scenery
Production
- Assist the Production Manager, creative team and crew with sourcing or constructing set, scenery, prop and costume items
- Assist with bump-in-and bump-out, including the rig and de-rig of of lighting, sound and projection equipment and installation and removal of sets
- Assist with basic costume-making tasks as required
Administration & General Responsibilities
- Assist with the general smooth-running of the office
- Answer phone and email enquiries appropriately and efficiently
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail
- Maintain stationery and office supplies
- Assist with public enquiries and marketing initiatives
- Assist with record keeping and donor liaison

SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
- Demonstrated interest in the performing arts
- Well-developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
- Friendly, flexible, problem-solving and cooperative attitude
- Intermediate computing skills and knowledge of office systems
- Ability to manage own timelines work without supervision
- Ability to work as a team member, with people of various backgrounds and experience
- Working understanding of OH&S principles
Desirable
- Previous experience in a production role in the performing arts
- Current drivers licence

As the successful candidate, you will receive:
- National Training Wage + 9.5% Superannuation

People with tertiary qualifications need not apply. Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
Position is best suited to a recent secondary school leaver.
