Coretext is a client publisher specialising in science, agriculture, education, research and innovation. We are a small team of (currently 13 + dog) writers, designers, editors and photographers dedicated to excellence in publishing and communications.
We are looking for a production manager to manage publication workflows and administer a range of publishing projects: magazines, fact sheets, annual publications, reports, updates and journals.
The role requires you to be an experienced, well-organised administrator, deadline oriented, possess keen attention to detail and be experienced in coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
This is a full-time, on-site position, based in North Melbourne near the Queen Victoria Market.
The main tasks include, but are not limited to:
Production management
- Traffic: scheduling, and managing workflow/job priorities (on a daily basis)
- Managing of designers, writers, suppliers of content, freelancers
- Scheduling
- Client liaison
- Arranging quotations
Production editing
- Receipt of files, checking content/quality is suitable for print/online
- Managing content flow
- Managing client review and sign offs
Print management
- Liaising with suppliers
Digital asset Management
- Uploading to client CMS
- Preparation of digital collateral
- Understanding & experience of social media scheduling tools
General administration
- Some reception, weekly meeting minutes
Ideally this position would suit an experienced administrator with at least 3 year’s experience in a publishing house, print house, design studio or similar. You should have excellent communication skills, and be able to work harmoniously in a team, as well as autonomously.
Qualifications including a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, relevant to publishing would be well regarded. A personal or professional interest in science and agriculture would give you an unfair advantage.
A high degree of literacy in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud and project management software is essential.
