The finance team is responsible for providing accurate, compelling and timely coverage to audiences across a range of platforms including desktop, apps and social. They work closely with our other content teams and specialist verticals, including news, entertainment, lifestyle, and sport.
  
More About This Role
This role is the operational and strategic lead for Yahoo Finance and is responsible for major aspects of Yahoo7’s content offering. This person will lead a team of journalists to publish engaging, must-read stories across the world of finance. It’s your responsibility that we are more accurate and quicker-to-publish than our competitors. You will also be the bridge between Yahoo7/ Oath ANZ and stakeholders in other Oath markets.
Day to day you will:

• Oversee story selection, working with editors and producers to ensure they are engaging and on-brand
• Reacting to breaking news to ensure we provide the best possible coverage.
• Working with team members to ensure images, video and stories adhere to best practice at all times
• Regular communication with content partners, including global markets to ensure access to the best possible material

   
A Lot About You

• 7+ years’ experience within a digital news environment
• Previous leadership and team management experience is a must
• Understanding of social media and how to use it to continue to grow our audience
• Thorough understanding of media law, including, but not limited to, defamation, contempt, and copyright
• Experience in headline, sub-editing and picture selection. Directing editors to ensure a high-quality output
