OVERVIEW
My client is one of the leading independent agencies in Australia, powered by some of the industry’s leading thinkers. They continue to grow their full service offering and are on the hunt for a Connections strategist that can also stretch into brand planning.
 
Connections strategy is absolutely central to making the creative output at this agency stronger. Or in their words, making big ideas also long ideas. It is a discipline that should be present through everything they do, from first response to brief, through development of creative briefs, to idea generation and execution. It’s what enables us to do work that genuinely answers clients’ business issues.
 
They are looking for someone to join their Connections and Brand Strategy team at a strategist level. Someone who can hold their own in front of clients and in discussion with teams, but who is also looking to learn and develop in one of the world’s most interesting agencies.
 
CORE ROLES

  • Work with senior connections strategists and brand strategists to develop comms thinking for accounts across the agency outlining the long-and-short term communications strategy for our brands that will enable them to outmaneuver the market.
  • Working with strategists and creative teams to deliver innovative and effective solutions to client business problems:
    • Innovation solutions.
    • Non-advertising solutions.
    • Reimagining of traditional media.
  • Developing and implementing campaign plans/ rollout plans and ecosystem development alongside clients and agency partners.
  • Driving and understanding of the implications of audiences and platforms through briefs.
  • Establishing messaging hierarchy and development across communications ecosystems and over time.
  • Working with media partners to develop best-in-class executions and innovative media partnerships that transform client communications.
  • Briefing and working with creative teams to deliver best in class integrated ideas.

Currently, they have a unique need and are looking to develop a strategy unicorn that can execute across brand planning and connections. They are looking for someone who has a strong media agency background with a desire to dip into brand work. But we get that it might be hard to get all of these in a neat package. It might be someone who has spent their time in a media agency but wants to help more things get made, or someone at a digital agency who wants to work across a broader media mix, or someone at a traditional creative agency who tries to think beyond the typical model of planning and creative development.
