Under the leadership of Michael Grose, Parenting Ideas is Australia's foremost authority on successful parenting and raising exceptional kids. Our publisher will help to grow the Parenting Ideas brand as a trusted, accessible parenting authority, ensuring the delivery of high quality content that positively impacts people’s lives.

About the Role

This position is responsible for the development and publication of a variety of digital content and materials aimed to support the Parenting Ideas business including subscriber blogs, eDMs, digitally based customer publications, external blogs, influencer outreach, social media and more. We welcome new and innovative ideas.

This is a part-time role for 15-20 hrs. per week, with flexibility, and the opportunity for increased hours in the future.

Duties will include:

• Working with internal stakeholders to create and maintain a content schedule for both  B2B and B2C audience groups, being schools and parents.
• Ensuring consistency and quality of all published materials applying specific style formats and quality control, understanding reader needs and interests.
• Maintaining regular contact with and nurturing a small team of expert contributors ensuring articles and content submissions represent the brand.
• Publishing weekly blogs through the CMS including editing articles so they fit within tone of voice and brand guidelines.
• Publishing weekly articles and resources to the school membership base, as well as to premium school members.
• Developing content for and publishing the digitally based newsletter.
• Finding ways to innovatively repurpose content for use in various formats to grow brand awareness and generate sales

About You

This role calls for a creative and innovative publisher and content manager who is looking to make a real contribution to a trusted brand that is making a difference to family lives. A team player, with excellent communication skills you will work on content covering multiple business units and varying customer interaction phases such as lead generation, acquisition, relationship and retention.

Ideally you will have worked in a modern publishing environment with experience in all content formats, working with professional writers but also a writer yourself. You will find ways to creatively and effectively present, distribute and amplify consumption of content from parenting education experts. Your skills and experience will include:

• Qualifications in publishing, writing or editing
• Background in publishing, journalism or editing
• High level of literacy
• Superb writing and editing skills
• Unrelenting eye for detail – you do sweat the small stuff
• Expertise in emerging publishing techniques
• Able to work with in a CMS and other online publishing platforms (Gather Content preferred)
• Understanding of publishing programs such as InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator highly advantageous
• Experience working with content in a digital format
• Able to manage multiple publishing schedules and deadlines concurrently
