Who you are
A fantastic opportunity is available for a video producer/journalist with the energy and commitment to join the editorial team based in Townsville. Reporting to the chiefs of staff at both the Townsville Bulletin and SKY News, you will be responsible for uploading and producing content across the News Corp platforms, including print, TV and online.
You should be able to file a web story as quickly as you can whip up a script and be as comfortable doing lives pieces to camera as you are crafting a news feature article. You will also have a passion for news and an insatiable appetite for scoops.
As a video producer/journalist, you'll develop community contacts, come up with news ideas that would be suitable for a local newspaper, online and national television market. You'll cover everything from breaking news and politics to quirky community yarns.
The successful person will have degree in journalism or media and some experience. You should have a showreel included in your application as well as some examples of your writing. You will have some experience in video producing but further training will be provided. You will have a solid understanding of punctuation, with the ability to work autonomously and self-edit when required. As a natural communicator and creative thinker, you will be fast, flexible, customer focused and share our vision for the future.
