The Role

Supporting the Media & Content Manager, in the delivery of media services in relation to this large Infrastructure's planning, design, construction and operations. This will be a high profile role, working in a high volume environment with tight deadlines.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide media relations services (proactive & reactive) across a range of projects simultaneously, ensuring well coordinated and documented activites.
• Provide issues management services, and strategic adivce to the Media Manager and Communications Director and wider management.
• Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the Directorate from frontline staff to ministerial staff.
• Act as a mentor to junior members of the team.
• Prepare media releases and material for social media.

Main Requirements

• At least 10 years relevant experience working on media relations
• State government experience will be highly beneficial
• Experience working on large infrastructure projects or capital works programs will be essential.
• Experience working as a journalist or media advisor with dealings at Ministerial Office level will be critical to the success of this role.
• Excellent communication skills able to build strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders with conflicting priorities.
• Proven ability to work across large, complex programs.
• Ability to work in high volume environments with tight deadlines.
• Tertiary qualifications in communications or related principles desired.
