If you are an experienced writer with a business and finance background, maintain excellent verbal communications skills, are a proficient user of social media and have a desire to work in a flexible work environment within a growing team, we would like to hear from you.
The role presents a unique opportunity to traverse the agency and in-house environment with the potential for the successful candidate to be partially embedded within our client’s business. This will see the successful candidate working with a range of experts in areas such as economics, capital markets, technology, industry specialisations, and around trends facing businesses in today’s domestic and global marketplace.
The role would suit a candidate with a background in journalism or digital content looking for opportunities to work with one of Australia’s leading organisations and take on a senior position within the firm.
Job requirements and responsibilities
- Responsible for writing and editing of reports, whitepapers and other research-based materials
- Manage the development and writing of ad hoc digital articles, blog posts, social media articles, case studies, marketing communications and other related content
- Responsible for copy-editing and proof reading print and digital content
- Responsible for meeting deadlines and project timelines
- Working directly within the client business in an embedded capacity where required
- Act as liaison between the agency, client and third party research partners and other suppliers
- Working with external experts to determine topics, themes and direction of content programs
- Working with a multi-disciplinary agency team to conceptualise and execute campaigns across a range of communications channels (media, social media, digital, internal)
Essential skills and experience
- Minimum of seven years’ experience as an editor or senior writer either in an agency, media outlet or in-house
- Proven success in writing across different formats and digital channels, including reports, whitepapers, blogs, social media communications, marketing collateral and internal communications
- Experience in originating and curating editorial content
- Track record of managing a range of subject matter experts, and both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong, proven technical understanding of financial markets, economics and financial services
- The ability to rapidly adapt to a range of varied projects, topics and deliver to tight deadlines
- A desire to join a small, flexible team with a focus on servicing one of Australia’s leading organisations
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in business or communications related fields preferred
