An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Media Advisor to join a government department located in Canberra.
The role
The Social Media Adviser is a rich media content expert that supports key communication strategies and promotes digital services. They write, edit and publish content for Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites. They draft scripts, and record and edit video and audio interviews and podcasts, for publication on YouTube and other social media sites.
The Social Media Adviser combines creativity and sound judgement to give best practice advice to stakeholders for content topics and angles, and identifying relevant content channels. Stakeholder engagement in the spirit of successful and positive outcomes is key to the role. The Social Media Adviser displays exceptional attention to detail and has a proven commitment to meeting deadlines. The Social Media Adviser works under limited direction of senior staff and shows initiative while managing competing priorities. They contribute to business planning, changes in workplace practices and business improvements.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing online collaboration spaces; promote the payments and services of our department and incorporate social media tactics into broader communication strategies
- Providing advice on how social media can be used to support the department’s business and communication objectives
- Identifying potential issues/risks in social media and working with key stakeholders to ensure it is effectively managed
- Developing and implementing marketing communication strategies for both internal and external audiences to support the department’s social media presence
- Analysing and reporting on social media data, including presenting analytics in a way that is easy for business stakeholders to understand
- Supervising, leading and mentoring junior staff to develop key social media management skills. This includes managing workloads.
You
It is essential you have:
- Minimum Cert 4 Qualification and 3 years experience
- High level of Communication skills both written and verbal
- Effective communication and engagement skills
- Ability to prioritise and to work to timeframes and deadlines
- Accuracy and high attention to detail
