SQ is overseen by a Board of Directors who are responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation and its governance. Administratively SQ reports to the Premier and Minister for Trade through the Department of the Premier and Cabinet.
SQ’s remit has been expanded to include the development and operation of production studios in Brisbane as a key component of the Advance Queensland 10-Year Roadmap for the Queensland Screen Industry . The studios will be located approximately 20 minutes from the Brisbane CBD.
As Manager Studio Operations you will be the key SQ contact for all studio matters. Initially the role will manage SQ’s involvement in the development of the studios, including design, planning and construction in consultation with the Department of Housing & Public Works. The role will also be responsible for creating systems and processes to ensure effective and efficient operation of the facility.
Once the studios are functional, the role will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility, including ensuring all stakeholder interests are protected.
Please note that out of hours and weekend work will be required.
The Manager Studio Operations will deliver world class customer service and:
- Research, plan and develop systems to identify opportunities for screen projects that result in high levels of utilisation
- Manage the operations of the studios to maximise occupancy, deliver effective returns and ensure client satisfaction and return business
- Develop and implement promotion, marketing and communications strategies for the studios
- Develop and maintain booking processes and systems
- Develop and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in line with relevant legislation
- Key contact for studio tenants, including managing hire agreements
- Manage the relationship between SQ and the building owners
- Oversee the studio maintenance program, including engaging and managing contractors
- Manage the studios operational and capital expenditure budgets, including providing regular reports
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- A minimum 5+ years facility management experience
- Experience in managing staff
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and written and verbal skills
- Ability to integrate with, and contribute to the development of, a small collegiate team
- Current Drivers Licence
- A strong network of screen industry contacts is highly desirable
