Your Role
We are looking for a developer to work with Minetec’s industry leading tracking system. This will include developing our tracking algorithms, real-time network services and mobile device pose algorithms. You will be tasked with coming up with new and innovative ways to track 1000’s of personnel and mining vehicles in real-time to sub-metre accuracy, in harsh underground mining environments.
Being involved at all stages of the software lifecycle, you will make significant contributions to the software process with a strong focus on the design and implementation of performant and reliable software with high scalability and availability.
You will use your strong aptitude for Object Oriented design and significant working knowledge of Computational Geometry, as well as your experience with kinematics, dynamics and state estimation, algorithms development and network programming.
Your Skills and Experience
Degree qualified in Electronics, Computer Systems or Software Engineering, you will have at least 5 years’ experience in relevant software design and structured software development methodologies. You will be familiar working in an outcomes driven, R&D environment, and be comfortable in a collaborative team.
You will bring:
- Extensive experience developing DSP/ Mathematical programming
- A working knowledge of positioning systems e.g. GPS, and INS/IMU systems
- Experience in Object Oriented Design and Analysis
- C/C++ Programming skills with a strong knowledge of the STL and threading
- Proficiency with at least one scripting language (Shell, Python etc.)
- Real time development experience
- Software Configuration Management experience
- Networking experience (i.e. TCP/IP)
- Familiarity with JSON and REST API
