Our client is one of the few large organisations in Brisbane making significant inroads in developing a DevOps culture. An Australian leader in their industry, they are finding new ways of doing, and developing engineers into multi-skilled team players.
Aiming to further modernise their software suite in the new financial year, a rare opening has emerged for a DevOps resource with expertise in Apache Kafka. This is a skill currently underrepresented in the organisation, and you would act as a technical mentor in this space across the delivery teams.
Your duties will entail:
- Design, develop and maintain code, tests, scripts and tools across a diverse application suite
- Level up micro services-based systems with next generation monitoring and instrumentation
- Build and run at scale using cloud solutions wherever possible
- Refine and improve CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code tooling
- Act as a change agent to the delivery teams
- Keep up with emerging technologies and techniques
- Identify and actively work towards supporting continuous improvement opportunities
To succeed you will possess the following:
- Significant hands-on experience with Apache Kafka
- Experience with languages such as Node, .Net and C++
- Expert knowledge in at least one of the following areas (or similar)
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks like Selenium and Gauge
- Experience with continuous integration/deployment tools like Chef, Drone, Team City and Octopus Deploy
- Virtual environments and containers like Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker and AWS
- Monitoring and alerting like Prometheus, AppDynamics, ELK, CloudWatch
- Previous experience as a senior member of a team
- Experience working in an Agile environment
