Detail information about job Technical Business Analyst. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • $100M Technology Transformation
  • Technical BA with insurance experience
  • Fixed-Term Contract, 12 months, $120-140K package

Our client is undergoing a truly top-to-bottom technology transformation that will ultimately improve the experience of all its employees and customers. This $100M+ transformation at an iconic Australian insurance organisation needs a further technically-minded Business Analyst to join a team of insurance Business Analysts in probably more of a Technical Business Analyst role. You will work with diverse internal technology employees and vendor teams to work on a transformation that includes a major platform upgrade and a new CRM implementation.

To be a success in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Create a good understanding of the business needs and strategies, including technical requirements, in order to support the development of high quality technical business analysis artefacts such as the functional specifications.
  • Provide information to others regarding the technical business analysis artefacts in order to support IT solution design, development, testing and implementation activities for Integration Services
  • Collaborate with business subject matter experts, IT subject matter experts and business analysts to form a good understanding of business and technical needs, existing and future processes as well as problems that need to be resolved during IT delivery
  • Provides support and counsel to developers, testers, and others regarding the technical requirements throughout the solution delivery cycle to ensure quality, timely outcomes

To be a success in this role you will bring a good blend of the following skills and experience:

  • Experience working as a Technical Business Analyst at an insurance organisation
  • Experience working all phases of systems development lifecycle using Waterfall, Agile/Scrum and hybrid application development environments as a Technical or Systems Analyst
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering excellent and high quality technical business analysis artefacts, including Business Analysis Plans, Current State Analysis, Technical Specifications, Functional Requirements Specifications and other visual documentations.
  • Sound ability to analyse, isolate, and interpret business needs to support creation of excellent IT technical artefacts
  • Good understanding of the technical process flow of data and services for internal and external facing applications

It may seem odd to insist on insurance experience for a Technical Business Analyst role but there will be business stakeholder engagement within the role. This transformation includes the upgrade of their core insurance platform so understanding the business work flows will be important.

This program of work is 9 months into its anticipated 2+ year delivery and is really hitting its straps. There is a very collaborative environment and an excitement about working on a giant transformation that will improve the company from top-to-bottom for both employees and customers. Although the role is not paying daily contractor rates, the work is very stable, long-term and will look great on the resume when next hitting the market. Depending on the suitability of the successful candidate the 12-month fixed-term salary will be somewhere between $120-140K inclusive of super.
