Outdoor Supacentre is an online retailer based in Silverwater. We are looking for an Experienced Systems Administrator / Desktop Support person to provide remote and onsite support on a variety of end user devices, servers, cloud applications and networks used by our clients.

A large portion of daily duties would include resolving desktop and phone issues. There will also be opportunities to work with "on-premise to cloud" migrations, hardware deployment projects and onsite server support requests.

While this would be a great opportunity for an experienced Microsoft Engineer with Certifications to step up to the next level, Linux is also a major part of our infrastructure so the successful applicant would need to be proficient in both environments.

Job tasks and responsibilities

In this position you will be responsible for the following - 

  • Service Request Ticket resolution, escalation, and proactive support.
  • Ticket resolution targets of "100% Same Day Closure" with detailed resolution documentation.
  • Delivery of high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Documentation Management of customers IT environments and networks.
  • Ongoing training and certification on various vendors solutions which we support.
  • Managing customers IT expectations via clear and concise communications.
  • Assisting customers with their understanding as to what is possible with technology to enhance their business processes.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate must have - 

  • Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent customer service and telephone communication skills.
  • 4 or more years of experience in a Level 2 or 3 IT support role.
  • Proven desktop support experience across Windows and OSX computers.
  • Great organisational and time management skills as well as being a detail oriented person.
  • Microsoft Certifications to MCSA level for administration of Windows Server 2008R2, 2012R2 or 2016 a bonus, but we value experience and willingness to learn
  • Proven Network Engineering experience in LANs, WANs, Firewalls, Routers, Switches and WAPs either Web Managed and CLI. Also experience in analysis and troubleshooting of various internet service delivery technologies.
  • Administration experience in "Cloud" infrastructure and SaaS - Office365, AWS or Azure, Hyper-V or VMware is desirable.
  • Proven experience supporting Windows OS - Windows 7, 8.1, 10 and latest versions of Microsoft Office suites. Also Apple Mac OSX and application installations and configuration.
  • Experience in configuring mobile devices for apps and email accounts.
  • Experience with administration of Microsoft Exchange Server.
  • A desire to keep upskilling

Desirable skills we are looking for, and will want you to work towards include.

  • Experience in supporting on-premise accounting applications.
  • Experience with a ticketing system and remote monitoring management system.
  • Experience with the administration of various backup applications.
  • Experience with IP phone systems such as Asterisk or 3CX
