Role Based in Brisbane, Queensland 


We are currently looking for a Business Analyst for a large government department based in Fortitude Valley. You will be joining a Patient Administration System (PAS) replacement program of work. This is a contract through until the end of December with high a likelihood of extensions paying $770.00 per day inc super. 

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations to the Program Director, project managers and stakeholders on program/project direction for business analysis activities, identification of risks and opportunities, change management and issue mitigation strategies.
  • Lead and manage the development of strategies and tactics to support stakeholders, providing business analysis costing and modelling information to influence the strategic management and ensure effective business changes as a result of the program.
  • Develop high-level submissions, briefs, presentations and project documentation for the program of work, including strategy responses, options analysis, risk mitigation, financial impacts and implementation strategies.
  • Facilitate business case development, strategic business analysis, scoping and feasibility studies to provide recommendations to senior management and stakeholders. set the direction for business process changes and take advantage of modernised patient administration capabilities.
  • Undertake complex business and financial analysis activities including long term forecasting, market analysis, and modelling activity, workforce, investment and financial scenarios to support the implementation of ICT-enabled business initiatives.
  • Identify and define major obstacles, issues and problems that may impact on state-wide ICT initiatives, determining the impact to the organisation and recommending appropriate strategies to ensure the effective delivery of project requirements within agreed timeframes.
  • Manage and define the Business Process Modelling activities and the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the business analysis activities and framework.
  • Lead and manage specialised project team(s) and associated management control activities, including the management of project schedules, risks, issues, changes and dependencies and ensuring a high level of project management rigour and governance arrangements.
  • Build and maintain influential relationships and networks with executive and senior management and significant stakeholder groups in ICT, application management and the private sector to encourage collaboration to support the program of work.
  • Manage business analysis capability and professional development by leading and mentoring business analysts, and key stakeholders across the program/project(s).
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in setting the direction for and leading business analysis activities, and in patient administration process redesign and business case development activities in the health care industry, and intimate knowledge of healthcare processes specifically those used for patient administration.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing, managing and defining business analysis and process modelling and business change activities for large scale complex organisations.
  • Proven excellent negotiation, consultation, facilitation and effective written and oral communication skills for use in complex program/ project environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary project team. 
  • Experience in business analysis, cost/benefits analysis, business case development, and appropriate business analysis (e.g. Business Analysis Body of Knowledge), business process modelling (e.g. Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN or LEAN), business change management and program/project management methodology within a healthcare environment would be well regarded.
  • The ability to travel regularly intra-state and work additional hours as required.
