DXC Technology’s Enterprise Security Services is the specialist, IT Security division of the organisation. Our Managed Security Services (MSS) team provide a broad portfolio of security solutions offering end-to-end operational management of market-leading technologies and security incident response services for large multinational clients.

As part of our continued focus on the Asia Pacific market, we are enhancing the shift team who work within the Cyber Security Centre that is capable of delivering security services to the highest standard for our clients. The MSS Shift Team has the responsibility of handling all of the operational faults and security incidents generated by the MSS Platform which monitors the entire APJ managed estate.  The L2 Security Engineer (Shift) will own the incident through to resolution (typically 80-85% of incidents are resolved at L2) or escalate to L3 Engineers as appropriate.

Located in Sydney, we are seeking an experienced Security Engineer who holds exposure to network or security technologies and possesses experience of delivering high standards within a technical or service oriented environment. You will be a part of a global team within MSS therefore it is critical that you have a desire to learn about new technologies, including self-study.  As a L2 Security Engineer (shift) you will be the first point of contact for key MSS customers therefore a pro-active and professional attitude are essential for MSS to successfully deliver.

This position will be based in the purpose built Cyber Security Centre located at Macquarie Park. The role will require participation in a 24/7/365 shift pattern where both daytime and out of hours work will be required, including weekends, subject to appropriate compensation.

Some of your Key Responsibilities will include:

• Handling incidents as per standard service measures.
• Provide technical support to customers across the managed service portfolio.
• Responding to device alerts through in-house proactive alerting system.
• Support customers via phone and email.
• Liaise with vendors to support customer devices and environments.
• Attending technical training to retain skill levels across portfolio.

To be considered for this role, you will hold the following skills & experience:

• Demonstrated IT industry experience or graduate of IT based course (must include TCP/IP networks)
• An understanding of networking technologies
• Experience in a Technical Support or Customer Service environment
• Experience of working within a team environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Evidence of trouble-shooting skills

Desirable Skills:

• Experience working with packet captures / tcpdumps
• Experience of configuring/managing at least one security or network product.
• Familiarity with SIEM, IPS/IDS and Vulnerability Scanning solutions.

Due to security clearances, the successful candidate must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to hold an Australian Government security clearance at the Baseline level.
