Data wwarehouse Developers Multiple roles

Our client, a highly esteemed Federal Government Department are seeking multiple Data Warehouse developer / ETL Developer to assist in improvements, development and maintenance.

The primary duties of the Data Warehouse developer / ETL Developer will include:

• Development and maintenance of innovative, robust and sustainable corporate systems.
• Undertake a range of data warehouse development.
• Conduct investigations, undertake specialist or technical research and analysis activities.
• Provide professional advice within an area of specialisation based on systems knowledge, policy and legislation.

To be considered the Data Warehouse developer / ETL Developer must possess:

• Development of ETL mappings or Data Integration from sources such as RDBMS (e.g. SQL Server), CRMs, Websites via APIs, Flat files (CSV / XLSX / XLS / XML / JSON)
• Identifying patterns and trends in data sets
• Working alongside teams within the business or the management team to establish business needs
• Defining new data collection and analysis processes
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge within the Microsoft Stack
• Experience in modelling data
• Knowledge in using Kimball methodology
• Knowledge in using Data vault modelling
• Report development e.g. PowerBI

We are seeking high quality applications from Software and Middleware Developers for a Federal Government Department to maintain innovative, robust and sustainable corporate systems. As an Application Developer you will work under direction and be accountable for undertaking a range of requirement gathering activities. You will also be required to conduct investigations, undertake specialist or technical research and analysis activities, or provide professional advice within an area of specialisation based on systems knowledge, policy and legislation.

Candidates must have industry based knowledge and experience in the delviery of systems requirements based on the following:

1. General software development experience with exposure to SQL, C#, and XML;
2. A recent University degree in IT - this is a suitable skill level for this role;
3. The eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance; and
4. Well-developed communication skills, including: 

• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
• Negotiation and liaison skills;
• Demonstrated experience in conducting workshops with business users and working effectively in a team environment, and
• Presentation and training skills.

It is desirable that candidates have:
1. Experience working in an agile software development environment.
2. A Bachelor's Degree in Software Development or equivalent qualification
3. Experience with source code control systems such as TFS
4. Familiarity with project and software development frameworks; and
5. Experience with SQL database management system including SQL structured query language (SQL), PL/SQL, and/or XPath.

SSRS Report Developers 

Our Federal Government Client is seeking an experienced SSRS Report/Power BI Developer for a 12 month contract role, working in Canberra’s CBD.

Within this role you will be required to work with various business areas to define business requirements, define data sources required to deliver the required reporting, and provide professional advice within an area. You will be expected to assist people developing self-serve reports using Power BI and troubleshoot and identify ways of enhancing existing reporting.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a SSRS Report and experience with Power BI Report Development in software development projects working with a range of stakeholders developing:
  • Design, development and implementation of a number of SSRS/ Power BI reports
  • SQL Server Analysis Services (multiple versions), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Database design, development and modelling (SQL Server)
  • Business analysis
  • Knowledge and capability transfer to both technical and business areas to ensure product sustainability
• Be able to collaboratively work with the business to understand their current requirements develop and test reports and dashboards, incorporating ongoing feedback, support self-service BI.
• Experience in Business Intelligence and Data and Visual Analytics
• Experience working in an agile software development environment
