Description:

Deliver Presales engagements  as an Industry Solutions/Pre-Sales Executive for a global Vendor in data governance/reproting.  

Your responsibility will  include participation in, planning for and managing the effort for formation and execution of technical components of the Industry Solutions, work with partners to synthesize complimentary Analytic Solutions for their Industry focus, thought leadership of personnel either directly or indirectly attached to the Business Unit’s Pre-Sales and Industry Solutions plus delivery and support of providing feedback to various stakeholder groups (local or global) including: Research and Development, Executive Leadership, Partner Management and Marketing.
  
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide thought leadership to and support execution of Business Unit Pre-Sales activities and Pre-Sales staff
  • Evaluate the partner market of the Business Unit and define/contribute to a plan for near-term and long-term execution in the area of Industry Solutions ( Pre-Packaged AND Partner Packaged)
  • Be accountable for the success of Pre-Sales Activities and Industry Solutions within the Business Unit’s geography.  Specifically:
    1. Accountable for fiscal success or achievement (looked at through ROI and other TBD metrics)
    2. Accountable for technical accuracy of any Pre-Sales and Business Unit Industry Solutions investments/assets.
    3. Accountable for Personnel skill development in delivering Industry/Analytic Solutions
    4. Accountable for creating awareness and enthusiasm within the Business Unit for Industry Solutions or emerging Pre-Sales Assets.
    5. As needed, Responsibility for escalating identified issues and presenting possible solutions as they are encountered in the influence areas of Pre-Sales and Industry Solutions.
  • Provide input into the Quantification of Industry Opportunities inclusive of forecasting resource needs during Industry Solution development and contributing to the forecast needs of the Professional Services team.
  • Participate in and lead, as requested, business reviews of the Industry Solution’s achievement and plans in North America.   A minimum of two of these reviews per year will be focused on the affected group and this role’s achievement.
  • Collaborate with and Support Marketing as a Global Stakeholder in promotion of  Analytic Offerings and any mutually developed with Industry Partners
  • Influence feature inclusion in products to support needs around Industry Solutions
  • Achieve expert level knowledge of all product features to ensure better/best practice use in developing Industry Solutions and demonstration in Pre-Sales activities
  • Architect a mechanism by which consolidated analytics feedback from various Business Unit stakeholders can be presented to the team responsible for Analytics development
  • Manage sales efforts directly with affiliated sales personnel and partners
  • Provide demonstrable Business Intelligence and Dynamics ERP/CRM experience in sales cycles
  • Actively represent the firm, in a pre-sales capacity as needed on direct opportunities and partner led sales engagements.
  • As needed, work with Sales Stakeholders to mature industry relationships in Channel Reseller Partners
  • Manage the maturation of relationships with partner designated technical points of contact.  Influence the activities of other Pre-Sales/Industry Solutions staff engaged here, as well.
  • As appropriate, ensure the smooth transition from Product Sales to Professional Services staff.
  • Apply domain and product knowledge to assist in the enablement of partner technical needs..
  • Contribute to the Annual Review of staff participating in Industry Solutions and Pre-Sales Activities.

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree required
  • 10-20 years of professional experience in a combination of Dynamics Channel and Business Intelligence Solution Delivery, Sales and Pre-Sales activities
  • 5-10 years of prior experience with BI technologies, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS and SQL Server
  • Understanding of the offerings placement in the Business Intelligence Market and the ability to articulate this knowledge to Industry Partners and Customer Prospects
  • Ability to provide thought leadership to other staff in the concurrent engagement on multiple Industry Solutions and Pre-Sales activities
  • Prior experience working in a client-facing technical role supporting the sale of BI software as a Pre-Sales team member.
  • Ability to absorb complex technical concepts and communicate them to a non-technical audience fluently.
  • Strong collaboration, leadership, organization and the ability to work well in teams is required.
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Self-Starter can work in isolation
