What’s in the opportunity:
You will draw on your entry level IT qualification & skills and support a highly skills team to learn the ropes and conduct:
Software Product Development
- Write SQL/Database code in the form of stored procedures/views/functions etc.
- Design and execute acceptance testing to improve the quality and reduce operational risk of the developed application.
Product Performance
- Use operational tools and monitoring platforms to gain in-depth knowledge, understanding, and ongoing monitoring of system availability, performance and capacity.
- Work with business analysts to enact client requirements and resolve client issues.
Project Management
- Liaise with Consultant Partners to establish delivery timelines and objectives as part of the implementation planning process
- Undertake release deployment/performance monitoring/query evaluation & tuning.
About you:
This role requires a natural communicator with good interpersonal adaptability; someone who really wants to be part of the bigger and growing global picture. An analytical and business mentality, you will also seek to understand the end-to-end process of the application software relating to international trade & logistics services.
A good mix of but not all of the following skills are what we will be looking for when evaluating your interest:
- HTML, CSS, jQuery, JSON/XML, Javascript and Ajax knowledge in the context of specific enterprise software and supporting applications, Linux CentOS 7, VMWare, Apache, NGINX, NodeJS, MySQL, Integration of 3rd Party CRM/ERP/POS and reporting platforms Python, Git/BitBucket, UNIX/Linux
- C Programming Experience in a Linux Environment
- Distributed computing, build tools such as CSS3, jQuery using SASS components, experience working with a CMS such as APIs, integration of back end with PHP, Web API, RESTful API, Source Control, AWS, Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development, revision control systems (Git, SVN), database concepts and ability to create ad-hoc SQL queries
