We are currently seeking a Systems Administrator who has a good understanding of relational database and management systems. The position will be based at our Northern Adelaide, Burton office, located approximately 30 minutes from the CBD. This role will be responsible for the “worldwide” management and administration of applications and database services providing fit for purpose IT systems to the Group. The position reports to the Information Technology manager based in Burton. The ideal person needs to work as part of a Finance and Information Technology team and must have effective collaboration skills with a “can do” attitude.

Responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Managing the relationship and acting as the interface with software vendors and internal system owners;
  • Systems and Database administration such as; development, configuration and maintenance of databases, formulation and implementation of best practice databases, maintenance of all application data bases in a SQL Server 2008 environment, plan and perform any required upgrades to the SQL database application system and all integrated systems, provision of troubleshooting and support for all databases etc;
  • ERP support including the configuration and administration of the ERP system in relation to user accounts, security privileges and permissions, arrange system back-ups and attend to upgrades and new installations;
  • Business Intelligence and reporting activities such as; management of data warehouse, configuration and maintenance of reporting tools used to analyse data stored in the data warehouse, troubleshooting for all data warehouse reporting system issues;
  • Project management of new database and application projects including upgrades, installations and system customisations;
  • Other ad hoc support to the IT Manager as required.

An ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years experience in a similar role;
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Computer Science (University level or equivalent) will be highly regarded;
  • Good understanding of the fundamentals of relational database and management systems and familiarity with MS SQL Server;
  • Working knowledge if Query, Business systems and processes, Windows NT, Servers and Windows Software and applications;
  • Experience in data architecture, requirements analysis and data modelling;
  • Experience with intranet, digital records management and CMS applications;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • High attention to detail and analytical abilities;
  • Well developed time management skills’
  • A current Driver’s Licence;
  • Up to date knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications will be highly advantageous.
