  • Exciting opportunity for a customer-focused IT professional
  • Customers are wide-ranging in size (20-1000+)

Would you like to work for a fast-paced Managed IT Services company and be an integral part of our technical team? This is a new role, and an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused IT professional with experience in Level 3 support, integrating enterprise technology and customer care.

As the Technical Consultant, your daily challenges are varied and might include such things as:

  • Migrating mailboxes from Exchange to O365;
  • Solving server and workstation issues remotely;
  • Designing, installing and configuring new wired and wireless networking equipment;
  • Optimising a customer’s data centre virtual infrastructure (on-site, in the cloud or both);
  • Talking a customer through firewall filtering options;
  • Aligning customer networks to our Technical Standards and tackling root cause analysis;
  • Working with our business consultants on customer presales;
  • undertaking customer care tasks by phone, email and in person; AND
  • Working with Level 2 engineers to solve challenges at the edge or beyond their current capabilities.

Why They Are A Great Place To Work

Their customers are wide-ranging in size (20-1000+), technologies (conservative to bleeding-edge) and IT capability (no internal IT to teams of 10+) so as a Technical Consultant you can expect that every day will be challenging and rewarding.

They have a workplace culture that is based around our RISE method - Responsibility, Intimacy to customers, Sense of urgency and Execute flawlessly, and all your actions will reflect your commitment to these values. They invest in the team through technical and non-technical courses and qualifications, and genuinely care about you (like you were family!)

This role might be for you if:

  • You love helping people, and get a sense of enjoyment and satisfaction when you make your customers happy. You create “raving fans”;
  • You enjoy solving problems, and take a methodical and deliberate approach to analysis. You don’t “shoot from the hip”;
  • You communicate clearly and often - both internally and with customers - and go out of your way to break down any barriers. No “back-room IT” approach;
  • You take responsibility and own issues through to completion, identify and proactively solve internal and customer problems, and make a difference!; and
  • You aren’t afraid to tackle any job - from a L1 laptop issue through to a complex infrastructure design and installation (with support!).

Your technical experience might include:

  • Working on an internal- or external-facing IT help desk in a L2/L3 capability, using industry-standard ticketing, access, management and monitoring tools;
  • Managing, or being a substantive team member, in IT infrastructure projects (servers, networking, desktops, firewalls, storage, backup, etc);
  • Holding Microsoft, Cisco, HPE, Aruba or similar vendor certifications (our Technical Consultants have a range of Microsoft, VMWare, Fortinet, Sophos, Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba and HPE certifications);
  • Installing, configuring, supporting and troubleshooting enterprise IT systems including:
  • hypervisors (e.g. VMWare and Hyper-V);
  • servers (e.g. MS Server 2003-2016);
  • email systems (e.g. Exchange, O365 and hybrid variations);
  • UTM and firewalls (e.g. Fortigate, Sophos, Palo Alto);
  • wireless and wired infrastructure (e.g. Aruba, Cisco);
  • Active Directory, Radius and Group Policy;
  • Storage infrastructure (e.g. SAN and NAS - Dell, IBM, Nimble, SimpliVity QNAP, Netgear);
  • Switching and routing infrastructure (e.g. Dell, HP, Cisco, Netgear); and
  • Backup infrastructure (e.g. Veeam, Shadowprotect, etc).

This is a wish-list, however the Technical Consultants generally have broad experience in all of these areas and deep experience in one or two
