The role

Our Product & Insights team are looking for an innovative Senior Data Analyst to help them drive outcomes for our Commercial business. Data is a key decision-making tool at carsales, and a better understanding of our customers’ behaviours is an important piece of the puzzle. You’ll work with a highly motivated and exceptionally talented team of data analysts to build reporting and predictive solutions, and deliver data-rich products, insights, and analytics to both external clients and internal stakeholders across our sales, marketing, technology and product management teams.

What you’ll do

• Analyse masses of clickstream data to identify audience trends, customer buying behaviour, and the impact of media products.
• Develop and maintain predictive analytical capabilities around prediction, forecasting, and segmentation.
• Own, improve and automate reporting and analytical processes, ensuring timely execution and continuous improvement.
• Approach tasks with the tools and languages of your choice and contribute to a developing analytical environment. 

What we’re looking for

• A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an analytical field (e.g. Marketing Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Engineering). Knowledge of hypothesis testing and statistical/machine learning is a plus.
• A lover of all things data who is a whiz at framing and solving complex analytical questions.  
• Proficiency in database/statistical programming languages (SQL, R, Python, SAS, etc.).
• Experience in enterprise dashboarding/reporting tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc) or visualization libraries.
• Someone who will work collaboratively with various teams to collect, collate and interpret our data, and then communicate the insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A multitasker who can effectively juggle multiple projects and priorities without dropping the ball.
