This leading enterprise company runs a world class Operations Centre monitoring all aspects of the organisations enterprise applications, networks, databases and Unix/Linux and Storage environments. They now have an opportunity for a technically adept IT Systems Operations Analyst to join their team on a 6 month contract.
Reporting to a shift leader you will be working in 24x7 shift environment, providing proactive monitoring and resolution of IT incidents across a global IT operations enterprise covering a wide number and variety of Windows server, Unix, network communications and applications environment.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Ensuring daily, weekly and monthly processes and procedures are executed and completed as required;
- Performing maintenance activities on infrastructure and applications as required;
- Performing proactive monitoring of environments within Datacentres’s power and cooling equipment and taking action as appropriate;
- Providing incident management and investigation and coordination as required;
- Documenting procedures, processes and other documentation as required; and
- Assisting in the ongoing performance improvement of the IT operations team and environment all following an ITIL process.
To qualify you must be able to demonstrate:
- Experience as a systems administrator and/or technical systems operator in a large enterprise environment and skills in Wintel, Networks and Unix/Linux;
- Experience working in systems operations - 24x7 environment
- Must have good experience using monitoring tools such as Network Node Manager, HP Business Service Manager, Remedy, MS SCOM, HP Operations Manager, BSM etc;
- Experience in Event Management & Incident Management in the one environment;
- Ability and willingness to work in a 24x7 rotating shift;
- Experience following ITIL processes and ITIL certified;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Any certifications in Windows Server, Networks and Linux/ Unix would be highly regarded.
