About this Opportunity:
Alphacrucis College (AC) is seeking an experienced Web Developer who will be responsible for the design and implementation of web software-based solutions to business problems. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the primary focus of this role is on the AC website and associated systems. The Web Developer will also work in conjunction with Marketing, for the smooth integration of the AC Salesforce environment for new student, donor and alumni management.
This role provides the opportunities to extend developer skills to native AWS facilities (i.e. enhancing website offerings with standard AWS capabilities); build deep skills in both AWS and Salesforce; develop integration skills; move into application management in a hybrid environment of on premise, cloud hosted, and Software as a Service solution. This full time position will be based in the Sydney (Parramatta) campus.
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Web Developer include (but are not limited to):
- Web system development;
- Systems integration, primarily between Salesforce, Student Management and website;
- Data cleansing / processing;
- Technical product ownership of the www.ac.edu.au environment;
- Proactive improvement of website usability and efficiency.
To be successful for this position you will have:
- A Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, or equivalent;
- Experience and an in depth understanding of the following primary AC website components:
- Django
- Python
- Wagtail CMS
- Postgres or equivalent SQL database
- PHP
- Familiarity with cloud deployment – preferably AWS
The following are desirable but not essential:
- Experience with front end web development (Javascript, CSS etc);
- Experience with Linux, and ETL technologies and processes;
- Experience with other web platforms such as Wordpress;
- Broad understanding of the tertiary education sector.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Experience in a similar Web Developer role.
- Exceptional organisational and planning skills, proven analytical and problem solving skills.
- High interpersonal communication skills (both written and oral) together with exemplary customer service and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Detail your capacity to be part of a Christ-centred organisational culture (i.e. details of any Christian faith, values or church involvement, or of your willingness to be part of a Christian organisation).
