To meet Modis’s continuously growing pipeline of work, we are looking for a SAS Developer within the Business Intelligence and Analysis unit. The primary scope of the role is to perform business analysis tasks based on project requirements and the abilities of the incumbent. The other core function of this role is data testing, analysis and investigation. Will also be responsible for assisting the business intelligence team in data testing and analytical activities as required and prioritised by the Director - Business Intelligence and Analysis. They will assume a role of integrity-checking data delivered via newly developed data-marts and work with the technical and business teams to identify, document and rectify potential data issues.

This is a flexible role within a team with frequently changing priorities, and accordingly, the incumbent will need to be highly adaptable to the ad-hoc analysis needs of the business intelligence area.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated ability to conduct basic data testing and investigate problems and issues associated with reporting systems.
• Statistical and analytical skills ideally including previous experience in using data to solve complex business problem.
• Ability to gain a thorough understanding of BI structures and methodologies, data warehousing and the BI toolsets of choice at the University.
• High standard of numeracy and ideally experience in the extraction, analysis and reporting of complex and data.
• Excellent excel skills (g. graphing, pivot tables, macros, filters, dynamic links, etc.) and the ability to be trained in new analytical tools as used by the Business Intelligence team.
• Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage with technical, business and executive level stakeholders.
• High level of initiative and coordination to work independently on small to medium sized pieces of work with confidence.

Desirable Skills

• Experience using a dashboard or visualisation toolset (SAS Visual Analytics, Tableau, Yellowfin etc.)
• Experience in utilising statistical analysis packages e.g. SPSS or SAS Enterprise Guide, and/or the ability to quickly learn a new application.
• Understanding of the purpose behind Business Intelligence and the benefit to business stakeholders.
