About the company
This Government agency provides important services to Queensland's emergency departments. They have recently invested in a program of works to upgrade their network, which has resulted in the openings of various Network Design roles.
About the role
As the Senior Network Engineer, you will support a series of significant ICT projects within the Network Implementation Projects team. It will involve analysing the current state of networking implementations, and developing network equipment configurations for the desired network state and implementation plans.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager with planning of technical activities required to complete project
- Leading the physical design activities, including completion of physical designs and layouts - ancilliaries and active infrastructure
- Provide networking advice and guidance to team members
- Identify any additional hardware/ software required
- Undertake and provide leadership to other team members to complete the development of the migration strategy and plans
- Develop and overss the authoring and execution of applicable test cases
- Provide technical leadership throughout the migration of services to the new network
- Troubleshoot and manage resolution of any technical issues encountered
- Decommissioning of legacy infrastructure and services
- Work with the technical team to ensure completion of as-built documentation, knowledge transfer and handover to BAU teams for ongoing support
- Prepare Logical designs and configurations and peer review
- Migration of services completed
- Decommissioning and clearing of legacy infrastructure and services
- Knowledge transfer and handover to PSNMC BAU teams for ongoing support
Skills and experience
- Experience in network design, transition, and migration
- Experience in delivery and coordination of projects
