  As part of our continued success and with significant inroads into the Federal Government, an opportunity has arisen for a .Net Developer with a Tier 1 Department to take on a long-term opportunity.

   

   

  About the role:

  The department requires the services of a Microsoft .Net Application Developer with a proven record of accomplishment and minimum 5 years’ experience in Microsoft .Net to provide specialist technical services to the department for development, delivery and support of bespoke business applications in development and in use across the department.

   

  Mandatory/Essential Criteria:

1. Extensive knowledge and experience in developing and supporting web-based applications using Microsoft development tools and platforms including: MS Visual Studio, MS Team Foundation Server, .Net/C, MS SQL Server databases, ASP.Net, MVC, Entity Framework, JavaScript/jQuery, Ajax, LINQ, XML/XSLT, PowerShell scripting, and developing N-Tier applications.
2. Highly developed application design, development, and implementation skills. This includes a sound understanding of structured application lifecycle management methodologies and application development concepts such as UML, data analysis and modelling, rapid application development, prototyping and agile approaches to solution delivery, web services and object oriented analysis, design and programming principles.
3. Ability to adhere to agreed standards and better practice frameworks for system development lifecycle management, architecture and design, documentation, project management, and change management.
4. Willingness and ability to contribute to continuous improvement of application development, quality assurance, support, and management frameworks for ICT Service Delivery.  This includes contributing to maintenance and improvement of the development environment, tools, practices and procedures.

Desirable Criteria:

1. Experience creating and maintaining web-sites and web-applications that are compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
2. Experience creating and maintaining applications that are secure and meet security assessment criteria.  Including familiarity with the Australian Government Information Security Manual; experience with secure coding standards e.g. Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP).
