Prezzee is a new eGift Card marketplace based in Sydney. We are working with top tier Australian retailers, this is an opportunity to work with a highly motivated team delivering excellence in all areas of our business.

After launching 2.5 years ago and being recognised with several national awards, we are firing on all cylinders as we develop our API, new apps, new integrations and new business oriented features. Now we are looking for someone to join our team and work on general software development duties across our range of applications.

We are after an intuitive, switched-on person who is passionate about all areas of tech, and understands that aesthetics and functionality go hand in hand.

Requirements

A little bit about yourself:

• You enjoy collaborating with artists and business folks
• You also enjoy a good pair programming session with a fellow engineer
• You know by experience that TDD delivers more value faster
• You are passionate about continuously delivering value to your customers
• You have excellent written and oral English skills, you will use them a lot

On the tech side, you have:

• A Computer Science or Software Engineering degree or commensurate commercial experience
• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• 4+ years of professional scalable responsive web application development experience using frameworks like Django, Spring, Rails, Symfony, Express, etc (did someone say CakePHP?)
• Excellent knowledge of at least 3 programming languages; we use mainly Python, but we certainly love polyglots
• Excellent knowledge of object oriented programming principles, design patterns and refactoring techniques
• Excellent knowledge of RDBMS (Postgres preferably)
• Experience implementing APIs (ideally using Django Rest Framework) and integrating with third party APIs
• Experience with git and Github/Bitbucket/Gitlab
• Understanding of the challenges of building distributed systems

Bonus points if you have:

• Amazing HTML5/CSS3 skills
• Understanding of functional programming principles
• Worked with cloud providers such as AWS or GCP
• Surfed (and survived) a few different Javascript waves
• Built native iOS/Android applications using Swift/Java/Kotlin
