The Role 
A great opportunity for a hands-on and motivated person to join a talented team to assist in the delivery of service to a global 24 hour trading business. The role would particularly suit someone who likes to work in a fast-paced environment and who understands the need for appropriate process and controls to minimise production incidents. The successful candidate will gain a deep insight into financial markets trading technology.

Main Responsibilities are:

• hands-on leadership of a small local team (as part of a larger global team) that provides front line trading systems support for traders and clients on a broad range of issues
• investigates problems beyond own area of knowledge, applying a broad business focus
• co-ordinates problem resolution and the implementation of changes in accordance with established change procedure
• co-ordinates changes and key operational activities like weekend infrastructure changes and business resilience tests
• pro-actively implements operational process improvements including documentation, process automation, capacity management and alert reduction

To be a successful candidate for this role, you will have:

• strong hands-on leadership experience in a senior customer-facing, technology focused role
• ability to handle multiple tasks or issues concurrently in a fast-pace, demanding environment
• excellent oral and written communication skills
• outstanding judgement and decision making skills
• ability to write programs, scripts and SQL statements from scratch with relatively complex logic
• ability to think analytically and troubleshoot technical issues
• ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• ability to make independent decisions within generally defined parameters
• ability to learn quickly
• an enthusiastic can-do attitude and a desire to take ownership of assigned tasks and issues

To be selected for an interview you must have:

• Linux/Unix 
• SQL
• Scripting 
• Experience in change and infrastructure management as well as all of the above
• Full working rights in Australia - Sponsorship can't be offered
