Always wanted to get in to IT Development but wasn’t too sure where to start? We have a fantastic Traineeship opportunity with an IT Services, Consulting and Development Company. The position available is for someone to work towards becoming a Graduate Developer, so this is not an opportunity to be missed!

• Full time Traineeship placement

Located on St Kilda Road, with a mission to implement the best IT practices for all their clients, this IT Company is now looking for talented individuals who can contribute to the growth and development of their business.

What will the job entail?
As the Graduate Developer Trainee you will be exposed to a variety of tasks across the spectrum of IT including but not limited to:

• Actively engage with, contribute and comply with the requirements of the Quality Management System (QMS). This obligation includes:
• Maintain an awareness of and direct professional efforts towards the achievement of the Objectives of the Companies Quality Policy
• Work towards providing Level 1 Software Developer functions for the business
• Working towards designing, specifying, document, develop and test software solutions to business problems
• To provide software development services to internal systems and customer projects as required
• To contribute to the development team

That seems like a lot! Can you break that down for me?
Of course! Basically, we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running with:

• Work towards developing applications
• Respond in a timely manner to customer requests
• Write documentation and manuals to support system developments
• Write reports and attend meetings
• Provide input to I.T. development within the business
• Proactively seek to learn new development languages
• Train themselves on new coding techniques and tools whenever possible

• Proven experience, (either commercial or academic as appropriate), developing applications software
• Commitment to service
• Presentation
• Ambition to succeed
• A strong commitment to learning
• Logical and analytical approach to solving problems
• Willingness to learn new programming languages

It’s also super advantageous if you have:

• A ‘user’ focus
• Able to grasp the essentials of complex problems quickly
• Able and willing to travel (car and licence a must)
• Work at customer sites
• Able to work towards developing turn-key solutions

Previous Trainees within this business have completed the traineeship and have been absorbed into the company to help it to achieve their missions and goals.  We are looking for the perfect candidate, so while we want someone to have started yesterday, we’re willing to wait for the perfect person.
