Bluefin are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a growing Fintech client here in Melbourne.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To actively participate in building, automation, operation, and ongoing improvement of the companies touch data platform.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Improving customer business outcomes through creation, optimization and automation of data systems, following DevOps principles.
- All environments: Dev/ QA / Staging/ Production
- All platforms & technologies in the Data infrastructure, including AWS Cloud Applications, build & administration, application deployment, network configuration and virtualization
- Assess and recommend new technology solutions as required.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES REQUIRED
- Security is a major factor in everything we design and as such a focus on compliance (PCI DSS) is essential.
- Ensure that critical components of server and networking infrastructure are architected for business continuity in the event of a DR.
- Project ongoing traffic volumes and patterns to determine when additional infrastructure may be required to meet anticipated increases in volume.
- Maintain knowledge of key Data Engineering, ETL, Data Warehousing and AWS Cloud technologies and work closely with others in the team and support them as needed.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Bachelors in a STEM or analytical field.
- Experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code Frameworks (like Terraform) are required.
- Experience with Ansible, Packer, Docker, Git etc.
- Experience with Unix and Python scripting.
- Experience in SQL/ Data Warehouses/ ETL technologies is ideal.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
- Ability to recruit, mentor and grow junior team members.
