Vault IQ exists to help create safer workplaces. We are an ASX listed company, providing cloud and mobile EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) solutions for businesses, across a range of industries. Our business is centred on the specialist areas of compliance and safety. The Vault product suite is developed in-house by our own software development and industry compliance teams. Vault aspires to have its systems accessible by every workplace around the world.

Working with our Chief Product and Data Officer you'll translate our business requirements into a creative vision and present these in the form of customer insights and visual designs ready for our in-house developers. This will require a strong and thorough understanding of our customers and stakeholders coupled with the ability to work with our in-house developers to find the balance between feasibility, aesthetics and usability.

You will also be involved in large scale website and mobile app development projects across Australia, New Zealand and Asia that will help organisations increase participation across their workforce in OH&S compliance, incident and risk management and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a UX vision and a plan for evolutionary, iterative updates, that gets the business closer to the larger vision over time
  • Own and represent the voice of the user throughout the design process
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to create concepts, interface sketches, wireframes, prototypes and final designs for web and application software
  • Develop guiding design principles for developers, and definitions of key personas that enable the teams to better appreciate and reimagine a more effective and delightful customer experience
  • Provide final designs and specifications to developers, ensuring consistency and quality

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in UX/UI design with a strong portfolio of work
  • Demonstrable experience in creating user flows, wireframes and user interface designs
  • Self starter with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the hard work required to solve creative challenges preferred
  • Working knowledge of User Centred Design Principles and Practices
  • Proven experience working within a cross-team environment
  • A solid grasp of user research, user testing, A/B testing and rapid prototyping
  • Strong ability to synthesise feedback and input from business leaders and product managers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present and sell design ideas to peers and clients

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of UX principles
  • UX or Design Portfolio
  • Experience working with product owners and front-end development teams in an agile team
  • Experience with Web and Mobile Application development

You will be an organised self-starter who can deal with ambiguity and are always on the lookout for new ways to improve the customer experience. Your excellent collaboration skills and confidence to present and defend your ideas to other designers, product managers and company leaders will be critical. Understanding the value of user testing and prototyping and your passion for solving real problems for real people through research, design and iteration will be essential.

You will be committed to creating elegantly simple user experiences from otherwise complex workflows. Taking the time to understand both the execution side of design and the business aspect of the product as well will be an important aspect of the role. You will strive to learn and understand our users’ needs, behaviours, and emotions to yield insights that inform product strategy and guide the design of the experiences we create.
