Senior Insights Specialist

Talent International is working in partnership with a large government organisation to assist in sourcing an experienced 'Senior Insights Specialist' to implement and manage portfolio processes to identify, report and manage interdependencies, risks, issues and constraints.  
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, establish and manage the framework for deriving and utilising portfolio level insights including processes and standards to ensure that it is aligned to the other corporate analytics and insights processes.
• Manage, monitor and derive portfolio level insights focused on strategic and business issues, risks, constraints, opportunities, financial exposure and benefits by combining and analysing various sources of information from across the business.
• Develop and test hypothesis using the various data sources, skills and knowledge from across the organisation.
• Make portfolio level recommendations and/or interventions through trend analysis and predictive analysis of portfolio/program/project risks and where to 'focus in' on.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about risks and opportunities on a range of timeframes, balancing short term imperatives with medium and long-term benefits.
• Knowledge of portfolio, program and project management (e.g. scheduling, cost, risk management)
• Demonstrated ability to positively influence and work collaboratively with all levels of an organisation to achieve improved business outcomes including ability to deliver presentations and influence outcomes at senior leadership and executive level.
• Ability to facilitate forums and workshops with more senior management membership/participation to achieve required outcomes.
• Experienced at developing and translating business strategies and ideas into business cases.
• Excellent relationship and stakeholder engagement and influencing skills - interpersonal skills and self-awareness.

 
 Key Criteria:
 

• Minimum degree qualification in Business or professional discipline, ideally with Actuarial/Analytics qualifications and/or post-graduate qualifications (e.g. MBA, CPA).
• Additional relevant tertiary qualifications highly desirable e.g. Portfolio, Program or Project Management qualifications.
• Proven expertise in analytics including the ability to use multiple sources of data and information to develop insights that inform robust decision-making.
• Expert level skills and experience in utilising industry recognised Business Intelligence (BI) toolsets to derive analysis and inform decision making
• Minimum 5 -10 years' experience in an analytics and insights role.
• Experience in a medium or large organisation with a focus on teamwork, goals and priorities.
• Prior exposure and experience of 5+ years working on complex, business transformation delivery programs.
• Expert level MS Office applications
